Got Dirt?
Here's a taste of the work (and play) we've been up to for the past few weeks. Huge THANK YOU's to Rick, Chris, and Dagny for all your help. Working hard and getting dirty is much more fun with great company! If this works and I can solve my posting problems, I'll put more photos up of all the transformations around here. We got so much done I can hardly believe it!

Hey, nice to see you back blogging. Looks like all your snow`s melted, so it wasn`t mud you were playing in.

Sand and weeds, mostly... Dagny used Mechano as a giant roto-tiller. Worked great! Last spring in the brief window between the soil being frozen solid and baked hard as rock, I spent hours with a pitchfork and shovel, levelling part of the yard. Not fun. This Easter it took all of 5 minutes to chew up the last, largest mound of rocky dirt with Mechano's tires. Then we moved on to the spot where Buddy the llama used to play king-of-the-castle. It turned out to be mostly heavy sand, so after Dagny spun half of it into the air we spread it out and put in one of the leftover railway ties to bring it level with the rest of the barn. Now if the weeds to grow back, at least I can actually mow it.
It hit 25 degrees that day and we spent a couple of hours with pitchfork and shovel after the fun with the truck, so it wasn't all fun and games. But Dagny had a blast in Mechano. She also got to drive it through one of the walls in the barn! My sister and nieces are arriving any time now, so the next post with all the photos will have to wait a little longer.
I'm glad to be back blogging, although it's still hard to find the time and energy these days. At least the connection has been fairly reliable lately. Knock on wood. I'm looking forward to sharing our latest progress. Nothing like lots of demolition to create some great before and after pictures! You won't believe the difference.
